JOURNAL #5 - OUR VIRTUAL STALL AT THE GENESIS TRUST ONLINE SHOP GRAND OPENING

We’re very excited to be selling our outdoor gear at The Genesis Trust Online Gift Shop Grand Opening on Saturday 27th March from 1-5pm. The event’s being held to launch their new Gift Shop to help the charity raise much needed funds on an ongoing basis.  As well as an afternoon filled with arts, crafts and wellbeing activities including sessions on decoupage, animation and candle making, there will be virtual exhibition booths for crochet craft, The Body Shop, Muddy Meadow and many more.

The Genesis Trust is a well-established Bath based charity that works in the community supporting those that are hungry, homeless, and vulnerable, while providing longer-term ways for them to help put their lives back together. They started with a soup run in 1990 and now have many projects including a foodbank, furniture project, mentoring and teaching life skills along with the original soup run. They have a highly visible presence in Bath and a well-deserved reputation for helping many people. If you’d like to learn more then go to their website The Genesis Trust. This charity is local to us, but we know there are lots of fantastic charities right across the country who do similar work so if this interests you, we encourage you to find out more about what charities are working in your local area.

Like all charities fund-raising has been incredibly challenging over the last year so it’s brilliant that along with the i3Institute at Bristol-based consultancy firm i3Works a new way has been found for Genesis to raise much needed funds. This new online shop can sell items to raise money that would normally happen at in-person events like local arts and craft fayres.

Muddy Meadow will be having a virtual stall on the day where you can visit us and see our products. Purchases will be possible and for every item sold to visitors we are offering a 15% discount to the buyer and will be donating 15% of all sales from the event to the Genesis Trust.

If you’d like a sneak preview of our outdoor gear and robust clothing head to our products page by clicking here. If you’d like to read more about how we developed the Mallard Teece, have a read on one of our previous journal where we talk about the process.

To attend the Grand Opening event on Saturday 27th March, click here to register. The event is free to join. Every ticket includes a FREE entry to the raffle. Prizes include wellbeing activities and donations from local artists (including one of our microfleece t-shirts, the Mallard Teece).
